Information of Department

“The department for those who specialise in abstract thinking…”

Students learn to correctly implement the rules of mathematics in each individual situation and to develop the ability to apply mathematical principals to solve a range of life scenarios.

Department Facilities:

The department’s facilities are of international standards, with well-equipped modern classrooms and computer labs. Tuition is given in English.

Job Opportunities:

Graduates will have gained both theoretical and applied knowledge throughout their studies. They can find employment both in the private sector, as well as in government departments and institutions. Successful students may continue onto the post-graduate programmes. Students who meet the requirements of the Ministry of National Education may become secondary school teachers.

The programme in the first two years enables students to understand abstract concepts with courses in abstract mathematics, algebra and topology. Research skills are then developed with such courses as real and complex analysis, computer programming, probability and numerical analysis.
